Young Learner Bursary Grant

Way 2 Work Ireland in Partnership with DCEDIY and TESS is offering grants to young people who are enrolled in apprenticeships or courses with accredited institutions and colleges. 

Way 2 Work Ireland, in partnership with DCEDIY and TESS, is proud to launch the Young Learners Bursary Grant for young people aged 16 to 23 with care experience who are currently undertaking an apprenticeship or who are enrolled in a course with an accredited institution. This one-time financial grant of up to €3,000 per learner is designed to cover essential costs such as:

  • Travel expenses

  • Equipment

  • Tutoring

  • Training preparation

​

The Young Learners Bursary Grant will be open for applications from Monday 31st March 2025 until Monday 28th April 2025.

 

Eligibility Criteria

 

To qualify for the Young Learner Apprenticeship Grant, you must: 

1. Be aged between 16 and 23 years old

2. Have a background in the care system

3. Be currently enrolled in an apprenticeship programme or a further education course with an accredited institution or college​

How to Apply

​1. Download the Application Form

2. Complete the Application Form

  • Where possible, the application form should be completed by the young person's social worker or aftercare worker. 

  • If a young person wishes to self-refer, this is also acceptable. However, we will need to confirm that the applicant is currently in, or has been in, Tusla's care.

3. Submit your Application

Send the completed application form to info@way2work.ie by 28th April 2025. 

​

What Happens Next?

​

  • Applications will be reviewed after the closing date. 

  • Successful applicants will be notified by email. 

  • Funds will be disbursed following confirmation of eligibility.
